The Last Post (for now)

A fairly lean week as we head into the Xmas period. The local Parkrun saw Nic streak home and a special mention to Ali who managed a PB.

Ed took part in the Mortimer Forest Trail race in Ludlow finishing 2nd of the Tewkesbury runners. The course could be described as undulating by the optimist but most of us would have said mountainous!

Phil Howells completed the Portsmouth Coastal Waterfront Marathon in the cut off time despite a few health issues.

Gwyn, Paul, Anne, Jo, Julia and I completed the 49 mile Cotswold mini sportive ride. This was a nice jaunt through parts of Oxfordshire and Wiltshire that I'd not visited before. It turned out to be a reasonably warm, dry December day. There are another 3 of these events in early 2017 for those who fancy it at a bargain price of £9.50 each.

This is my last update for this year but it doesn't stop you letting me know what you've been up to. Photos are particularly appreciated to brighten up the blog. Also feel free to share your plans and aims for 2017.

Speaking of 2017, our own Aquathlon series begins on January 8th. Its an ideal opportunity to see how the winter training is progressing. I'm sure that PJ and Caroline will be in touch shortly but if we all share the marshalling and other duties, I'm sure there will be ample opportunities for most club members to participate in at least some of the four events.

Finally, I'd just like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and and a Happy and successful New Year.
