A Bumper Weekend

There was plenty on this weekend with a number of members taking part in events

On the Saturday TTC was well represented at the Berkeley 20 mile road race. First club member over the line and 78th overall was Gywnn in a time of 2.36 which bodes well for his forthcoming marathon. Karl followed him home in 2.44 (107th), PJ, running for Ledbury Harriers, was 111th in 2.46 with Russell 123rd in 2.48.

On Sunday, over 50 competitors made the starting line for the 3rd Aquathlon with a great turnout of Club members including some first timers from this year’s ‘Try a Tri’ course. In fact it was one of the newcomers who was the first club member home, clocking 33.05. We will be featuring this year’s ‘Try a Tri’ group in a post soon.

Other notable results were Emma (34.56), Elaine (36.02), Clare (36.22), Steve (37.14), Becky (39.03), Sheena (39.08), Julia (39.58) and Crystal (40.50). Great performances all round which bode well for later in the season.

We’ve received a number of compliments on the latest event and the one in April is beginning to fill up. So get in quick to beat that March time!

Meanwhile Tom managed a second place in the Sidmouth Super Sprint Aquathlon which he was pleased with. He’s gunning for 1st at the next one.

Caroline has already sent out a reminder for the Bath swim this weekend. Unfortunately we can’t make it as we have a date at the Forest of Dean half marathon. We hope to be there for the next one.

Despite filling the 20 free places, we have had more expressions of interest in the Ragley Hall triathlon. We hope to reopen the Entry Central page again shortly. Depending on demand there may be a small charge but look out and enter. It will still be a bargain.

We hope to be able to announce a similar scheme for one of Gloucester Tri Club’s events shortly.
