Keep on Running
There was a bit of a running theme to last weekend's events with a number of TTC members pounding the streets and forests of the area.
First I must apologise to Kate who completed the Minchinhampton 10k last week in under the hour despite carrying an injury. Her normal time would be considerably quicker than this.
On the Parkrun front Tom managed a decent 5th place at Tewkesbury with an age related score of 61.33%. Unfortunately his exertions on the track the night before resulted him him being beaten for fourth place by a young athlete from North Devon AC. Meanwhile Kate continued her recuperation with a score of 56.12%.
A few of us entered the Forest of Dean half marathon; an off road run along forest tracks. I've heard it described as 'undulating' but it felt blooming steep to me in some places!
First one home was PJ in 1:46 followed by Suzie (1:53), Elaine (2:01), Julia (2:20) and Caroline (2:26). I had a disaster of a race, had to walk a bit and trailed in eventually in 2:30. One to forget I think!
Meanwhile Stu completed the Gloucester 20 mile race in 2:36 - an impressive time which bodes well for for his London Marathon exploits at the end of April.
Don't forget, if I've missed you off the update. it's because I don't know about it. Let me know and I'll share your achievements with other members. If you've got a a photo, even better!
